Inpatient Services

At Carrier, we know that psychiatric and addictive illnesses affect the whole family, which is why as soon as you walk through our doors you and your loved one are treated with compassion and sensitivity to your individual needs.

The decision to admit a patient to the hospital depends primarily on the severity of the patient’s illness. No one is sent to the hospital who can better be treated in the psychiatrist’s office or in a less restrictive setting.

Hospital stays tend to be brief, with the goal of crisis intervention, medical stabilization and transition to the next appropriate level of care. This holds true whether an individual is admitted to the Adolescent, Adult Psych, Adult Dual Diagnosis, or Older Adult unit. Treatment teams consist of a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, licensed clinical social workers, allied clinical therapists and certified addiction counselors.

It is Carrier’s belief that each individual be treated with the utmost dignity and respect. With the involvement of the individual and his/her family members, our aim is to tailor a treatment plan that best suites the needs of the individual.
